Pastel Haircolor: Sherbet hued hair; Pastel Glory!!!
Since I’ve moved to BUNGALOW/8, I’ve had opportunity to begin creating a custom swatch book of soft pastel tones, a-la Greases’s “Beauty School Dropout”. My mind (and many bowls of hair color) have been filled with pastel dreams. A hint of pastel, be it with a few foils placed in the hair or as a translucent glow over the entire head, is a great way to beat hair color boredom without straying too far from your usual hue.
Omaha Burger Club
Tonight I will attend my very first Omaha Burger Club meeting which will be held at Tommy Colina’s Kitchen, 3558 Farnam Street. Omaha Burger’s Club as assembled at the beginning of this year by three BUNGALOW/8 clients with a feverish love for cheeseburgers. The group meets regularly to dine at a variety of Omaha’s burger venues in search of Omaha’s BEST burger. Check out the Facebook page and join in on the fun (and give us your suggestions for the best burger in town). http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/182479625103612/
Elvis Presley and Nancy Sinatra
From childhood to now, Nancy Sinatra has been on of my ultimate beauty and fashion icons. In advent of glorious PINTEREST (www.pinterest.com), I have become aware of the ridiculous number of stunning images featuring dear Nancy with the king of both music and my heart, Elvis Presley (largely from the movie Speedway). Their individual looks during this time both offer inspirational hair and style suggestions that are translatable and wearable today.
Flight Attendant Chic
Several years beck, I read an interview with “IT” girl Chloe Sevigny where she said the best way to flesh out your TRUE personal style was to think of things you were attracted to when you were young and apply them to your look now. While I’ve always subconsciously applied that concept to the way I dress, it was interesting to see it in print. That said, the first time I ever felt truly “stylish” in my life was at age 9 when I received a black polyester jumper for Christmas, which I wore interestingly enough, with a large-collared cornflower blue shirt. It was my very first tribute to the 60’s-70’s flight attendant look which I adore and take cues from almost daily.
